Apprentice Program
The annual PFSC meeting is May 5 . The new board may recommend you for
a coaching position with the club next year if you apply and have
completed the requirements. The board will vote on pro contracts during
the summer. If you want to be considered, please complete the program
requirements before then. There will be a transition to another
apprentice program chair during that time. Because I am familiar with
your progress thus far, it would make the transition easier for you if
you complete the program before the new board comes in July 1.
In order to observe or teach on ice you must be at least 16 and have
liability insurance in force. Renewals of insurance, USFS coaches
registration, PSA membership, USFS membership all renew on July 1. Since
this takes a few weeks to become a registered coach ( a Cori check) I
suggest you start the registration process in early June . If you
plan to teach students at tests and competitions you must pass 3 CER
courses by July 1.
